About the Department

The department established in the year 2006 aiming:

To provide the students with a solid foundation in basics of Engineering Chemistry and enhance problem solving skills by ensuring better quality education by continuous monitoring, review of performance and counseling the students.

To develop application oriented research activities in Chemistry to the Engineering Society and to offer consultancy & solutions in the area of Quality Assessment.

It caters to the needs of B.E. / B.Tech., students in strengthening their knowledge in Engineering Chemistry and Environmental Science & Technology to serve for their carrier as an effective technology. The curriculum is a blend of Anna University, Chennai (As per the New Regulations - R2013). The Department of Chemistry possesses excellent facilities and sophisticated equipment’s for the students during their course of study.

The department of is a recognized RESEARCH CENTRE from July 2013, approved by Anna University, Chennai. The faculty members are expertise in frontier level of research, actively participating in research activities and are contributing genuinely towards the enhancement of academic and industrial interactions. The faculty members are also encouraged to attend various conferences, workshops and seminars to understand the current trends of research as a part of Faculty Development Programs to develop new ideas & methods in research as well as in teaching.
