The heartening story of our alumni Antro Churchill that illuminates that action is the distance between dreams and reality

Antro Churchill S, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate of the year 2012 expresses his gratitude and appreciates the institution for giving him the confidence to dare to step out of the box and embrace the challenges of life.

Antro Churchill has always favoured the place that offers a good balance between education and extracurricular activities. Therefore, after a brief research, Sri Shakthi was the name that stuck in his mind. He was thrilled after his first visit to the institution, the environment and infrastructure inside the campus exactly met the expectations of him in terms of architecture, size and vibes. Antro Churchill was excited in beginning the degree program at Sri Shakthi and his dream was coming true!

In the year 2008, Antro Churchill had the support of his father and mother, while arriving in Sri Shakthi with loads of hopes and pride. He felt ready to make a fabulous start to life at Sri Shakthi. The initial days were the character-shaping time for him, during that period he understood the surroundings and culture built his survival armour. That experience as a fresher spurred him to develop a friendly relationship with other graduate students in the following years.

Over time Antro Churchill strengthened his faith at Sri Shakthi. As an undergraduate student living in Sri Shakthi, he felt privileged in that he could benefit from all the great experiences that the institution had to offer. The proximity to distinguished scholars and industry experts as well as the simplicity of interactions with great minds, in general, was unique.

Antro Churchill was overwhelmed with the academics, which weren’t just there to make the students book smart. He gained an academic experience with some perspective and desire to contribute to the community. The institution challenged him to connect the world with knowledge and helped him to be focused on utilizing engineering concepts to positively impact our environment.

During the time at campus, Antro Churchill spent useful time at the well-established laboratories and research centres that brought together several disciplines around science. He served as the Chairman of the IEEE Student chapter, He was the Governing Council member of club ARISTA and He also had the responsibility of being a Convenor of multiple symposiums. The education was exceptional, and he knows without a doubt that the college prepared him for the career opportunities he has faced so far.

In his final year, Antro Churchill mastered the art of balance. He learnt how to balance his hectic schedule of project works, supervisions and sports. He felt lucky enough to be part of this prestigious institution. He understood the opportunities at Sri Shakthi are outstanding and not to be missed by anyone. By the end of his graduation, he landed himself in a job where he could continue his learning and be able to see the impact of his work in the field of Engineering.

Sri Shakthi did not teach him the theory or the contents of a textbook but rather allowed him to identify the right theory and have the confidence to step out of the box and embrace the challenge of life. Antro Churchill felt only grateful after putting into practice the learnings and experience from Sri Shakthi by applying his discipline knowledge in different situations, especially with regards to the evolution of technology.

Today, Antro Churchill is working as Senior Software Engineer at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Coimbatore with over 8 years of experience. In his work, he achieved Best Performance Q3 2016, ISTQB Certifications. He is persistently helping his organisation to be successful in their business using technology along with knowledge and skills.

The Sri Shakthi experience is not something to boast about, but rather to share and invite others to. All these years, Antro Churchill have realised that Sri Shakthi has really sculpted who he is today. During these eight years, he had very limited interaction with the Institution, but he supported a few initiatives and gradually begun to rediscover about the college from an alumnus perspective. He also made a useful contribution to society as the Section level CSR coordinator.
