Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering & Technology - Physics Department

Vision

The vision of the department of physics is to produce students for graduate studies with an adequate-broad understanding the basic concepts of science and technology by providing quality instruction and research education.

Mission

The mission of the Department is to provide a high quality education in physics to advanced areas of engineering and technology which meet the needs of industry, academia, and government. Moreover the department to facilitate to accomplish research in various advanced area of science and technology and play an integrating and leadership role to the multi-disciplinary community of science and engineering.

About the Department

Department of Physics is established with a Vision to develop quality Engineers to meet the current needs in the emerging world of Engineering. The Department endeavors to educate the students to acquire knowledge to usable to communicate and use their skills constructively for the benefit of the society. The Department has highly qualified faculty members promoting the students towards a proactive attitude to attain team spirit, social and ethical values. Apart from the routine academic activities, the Department also indulges in extra curricular activities to update their knowledge continuously. The mission is to impart quality higher education in conscience with the Motto “Learning promotes natural talent”.
The Department has been recognized as CENTRE FOR RESEARCH by Anna University, Chennai and offers programmes up to Ph.D. Currently research is being pursued in a wide spectrum of disciplines under the broad areas of Molecular Spectroscopy and Molecular Mechanics, Plasma Materials Processing, Crystallography and Quantum Mechanics.
The Department is in possession of two major research projects from Department of Science and Technology- Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB). More number of research articles are contributed in the national and International reputed journals then and there research scholars are pursuing for their Ph.D’s in the department.
