Meenakshi
The Inspiriting Story of our Alumni Meenakshi that reveals why determination is the essential part of the success
Meenakshi is so stoked and grateful for being what she is today. The achievements of her is a great reminder to us about the prolific four years she spent at Sri Shakthi and the way she reached her aspirations by knowing why she chose engineering at Sri Shakthi in the first place.
Meenakshi is currently a Flight Operations Officer, making her one the youngest to become a part of a renowned airline in India. Being the daughter of an Airline staff means that history might have played a role in Meenakshi's career. She credits observing her father as a child for igniting her interest in the field of engineering at an early age. This led to her pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Shakthi Insitute of Engineering and technology.
In the year 2012, Meenakshi S reached the campus of Sri Shakthi for the first time from Singanallur, Coimbatore. She was backed by her father who was working was Airline staff and her mother is a housewife. After the enrolment for the degree program, she had no second thoughts about her decision and regarded Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology as the ideal platform to learn and live her dreams.
Right from the start of her campus life, Meenakshi got the opportunity to learn from academics who are passionate about sharing their work and knowledge and some of them are major contributors in their field internationally. She also appreciated the diverse community that constitute the student body on campus and their countless interests, classes and work experience. Meenakshi felt that she was surrounded by a group of people who strive to be the very best at whatever they participate, and this pushed her to challenge and defend what she knows and believed in, which in turn, made her a better person.
While most of us believe that engineering can bring a positive impact on the world, Meenakshi is dedicated to proving it through actions. During her life at Sri Shakthi, Meenakshi was outstanding in her education and actively engaged in the various skill development programs. She has the unique ability to convey an idea through the presentation, which she demonstrated it with the presentations “Intelligent Control and Automation by Fractal Robots” at Bannariamman institute of technology and “Power electronics genesis and recent trends” at RVS college of technology. The experience she gained at Sri Shakthi took her to the International stage, where Meenakshi presented “Electromagnetic Radiation Shielding” at The American Society for Gravitational and Space Research, Pasadena, California, U.S.A.
In those four years, Meenakshi led a busy life and gained the most valuable skills for her life. She attended several workshops, “India’s Largest Renewable Energy Conference & Training” at Karunya university and “Winter School for Astro Particle Physics-2015 & 2016” conducted by Bose Institute and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. She took implant training - Design and manufacturing of switches, transformers and relays at Salzer India Ltd., Coimbatore. Circuit design, soldering and testing of automatic street lights - DMW Photonic Systems, Coimbatore. Electric supply generation, maintenance and electronics communication systems - Airports Authority India, Coimbatore.
Meenakshi got several rare opportunities and she made the most of it by visiting the most advanced innovation centres in the world like Cosmic Ray Laboratory, Ooty. Radio Astronomy Centre, Ooty. Bose Institute, Darjeeling. NASA – Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California, U.S.A.
Meenakshi worked on some notable projects - “Electro-Magnetic field detector” at Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore. “LabVIEW Based Busbar Holes Position Marking System” for SE Electricals – SUZLON, Coimbatore. “Fluxgate Based Current Sensor” at Laboratory for Electro Optic Systems – Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Bangalore.
Meenakshi's on and off-campus awards and achievements are undisputed for her efforts. She got 1st Prize in Project Presentation for topic “GSM based automatic ration system”. She represented India and presented a paper “Electromagnetic Radiation Shielding” at an international conference on Space Research held at the U.S.A.
Meenakshi received a gold medal in State level Shooting contest. She secured 2nd place at state level poetry contest conducted by PSG medical college and Rotract club. She became the editorial chief of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Association (EEEA) magazine. She wrote and directed plays to create social awareness on energy conservation, student welfare, mental health and women safety. She was the organizer for Sri Shakthi India Leadership Submit, Coimbatore.
Meenakshi was like an unstoppable force during her time at the campus. After her graduation, She secured her job dream by clearing the interview for Flight Operations Officer position. Today, she is working in Air India Ltd, New Delhi with over two years of experience. In these two years, she continues to reach new heights every day. She was issued "Directorate General of Civil Aviation Approved Flight Dispatcher (Flight Operations Officer) on AIRBUS A319, A320 and A321 with a current Radiotelephony-Aero license by WPC.
Meenakshi deservingly got the role of dealing with flight planning, route selecting, weather observation, flight path monitoring, decoding aeronautical charts, radio communication with aircraft in flight, aircraft, and airfield performance analysis, Fuel Tankering, ETOPS/EDTO operations, LVTOM operations, dispatching under MEL, cost index significance, payload calculations, aircraft performance limitations, checking airfield availability and suitability for a particular flight, keeping track of NOTAMS, AIPs, etc.
She worked with the Ministry of Civil Aviation for evacuating stranded Indian citizens from foreign countries by flight planning and operational coordination for flights to and from KAZAKASTHAN, MOSCOW, UKRAINE, BELARUS, KYRGYZSTAN, ARMENIA, GEORGIA, TAJIKISTAN, HONG KONG, SINGAPORE, VIETNAM, TBILISI, etc,.under the mission "Vande Bharat". She received appreciation several times for fuel-efficient flight planning and finding the shortest routes in the available air space for both domestic and international flights.
Besides Meenakshi's professional records and achievements, she also made a fair share of contributions to society with her extra-curricular activities. Meenakshi published an eBook titled “The Mystery” and "Flight No.AI 1349" through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. She was a volunteer in National Service Scheme (NSS) and a Flight cadet in NCC air wing. She held the position as a Radio Jockey and Event Organizer at Radio-Jayendra. She is an active member at Air India Rifle and Pistol Club, Mumbai. She keeps inspiring the upcoming graduates with her motivational talks at various educational organizations and social gatherings.
This is just the beginning of Meenakshi's contributions to the field. In the future, she hopes to continue building her engineering, commercial and legal experience to facilitate and deliver knowledge to places all over the World. All the above happened, when she put faith in the decision of joining with us and showed persistence in determination, now Meenakshi is very grateful and proud to be part of Sri Shakthi community.
